England

For my birthday in 2000 I went to England. I didn't go to London. I went to Leeds. I visited all sorts of places in the north. These are some of my photos from that adventure.

These photos were all taken with my crappy 35mm camera that also went to Italy with me in 1996.

I learned that all of the red phone booths in England are National Landmarks.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temples

I have been contemplating doing a Temple Photo Blog since I started this blog. I am at work so I don't know if i have all of my Temple photos here. I decided this morning that it was time to get started on it.
First we have the Mesa, Arizona Temple. This was taken in April 2007. It was an overcast day so I thought I would change this one up a bit. 2 years prior Marissa and I had been there. It was an incedibly clear day in February. Unfortunately I did not have a digital camera yet and the film ended up with streaks on it due to the x-ray machines. I should have taken the lead bag. All I can say is, thank goodness for digital cameras. (Maybe I will write a post completely on why I love digital cameras...)Then we have the Seattle Temple in Bellevue. As far as we could tell they were cleaning the Temple. There was also scaffolding on the side. Here is one thing that I have serious issues with...Moroni faces to the west! Yes that is correct, to the west. I do not understand how this is so. Does anyone know why? Some of my photos you can tell I have not done anything fancy schmancy to. The Temples are just so beautiful and the days happen to be so perfect that I see no point in changing anything on them. The Manti Temple is one of those Temples. The limitations of only having a point and click camera in that we were unable to get a photo of the entrance of the Manti Temple including the incredible flowers. "Our" Temple is the Draper Temple. Sure we were married in Salt Lake but we have been a part of the Draper Temple from the day the ground was broken for it. We haven't been by recently and probably should. These photos were taken the day Moroni was put into place. I personally have not taken any photos of the Salt Lake Temple. I suppose I should get on that. Along with all of the other Utah Temples I have at my disposal. Maybe I will make a run over to Timp during lunch today....maybe.

Cancun November 2007

The first time Rick and I tried to go to Cancun was in November 2005 and hurricane Wilma decided to keep us from going. We finally made it in 2007, after all sorts of flight delays. There was a hurricane/tropical storm ragging off the cost of Puerto Rico and that area of the ocean making it so we couldn't get into the ocean. We were told that prior to Wilma, one could walk "forever" out into the water. As you can see by my photos, it wasn't the case in 2007. In the last photo, that is our family walking on the beach.

Autumn in Utah 2005 Version

Silver Lake Oct 23 2005 - A little late in the Season

I realize that I have not posted as much as I would like on this blog. I have been spending a lot of time on our laptop recently and I don't have my photos on this computer. I am working on some scrapbooking today and happen to have my 2005 photo cd and thought I would upload some photos of the season. These were taken with my first digital camera and were taken just "on the fly."

Fun in the Summer

I have been unable to figure out how to eliminate the cootie that is on this photo. I like the photo nonetheless. Little Jimmy was so cute in wanting his dad to throw him. He kept saying, throw me dad throw me! It is so nice seeing my brother, Jimmy, having so much fun with his son. I can tell that they are a joy in each others' lives. I am blessed to have such a family.

Seattle Panorama Style

My camera is capable of doing Panorama shots. The only problem, I have to have an Olympus card in it. Of course I have replaced the card with a much larger one made by someone else. For a long time I didn't even bother trying to take them. Then a month ago I decided to see what I could do with my different photo software programs. I have several but of course I don't have Adobe Photoshop. That would probably make my life too easy. (Or maybe too complicated as I already have so much stuff I don't know what to do with it.)

I learned that the program which came with my scanner/printer has the ability to create panoramic photos. I was so excited. Below are some photos I was able to create from our trip to Seattle. All are composed of 2 -4 separate photos.
